Responding to the Da Vinci Code

Campus Crusade's response to the movie

Responding to the Da Vinci code Campus Crusade's Response to the Movie We have 4 main "Talking Points" to help explain our view and response to the movie. The key word for each point is bolded.

  1. We feel the movie offers a unique opportunity.

Author Dan Brown says that people will be exploring spiritual issues because of The Da Vinci Code. We want to help in that exploration.

  1. We want to help provide answers.

The book and movie raises historical questions. Most people have no idea where to go for answers. We want to help meet that need.

  1. We want to supply encouragement.

Many people get confused thinking the book is non-fiction. It creates a great deal of anxiety about deeply held and cherished beliefs. We want to reaffirm that this is a fictional account and help them sort through what is fact and what is fiction.

  1. We want to give perspective.

Like The Passion, this movie raises the question "Who is Jesus Christ?" That question opens the door for dialogue between believers and others to understand the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

Summary:

While we are not encouraging anyone to either read the book or see the movie, we want to be a spiritual resource to Christians everywhere and society in general as we dialogue on these important issues of life and faith.
